Tissue on tassar

Tassar is reeled from wild silk, which is why the surface is faintly uneven. Weaving tissue zari through it gives a shimmer that never reads as shiny.

The lotus creeper

Both selvedges carry a hand-woven lotus creeper in silver, gold and copper, and the pallu closes with broad zari bands and a knotted tassel fringe.
